Terms of Use
The agreement between you and Nava when you use the panchangam or open an account.
Last updated: 2026-10-08
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Nitin Srinivas K, a sole proprietor trading as Nava Panchangam (“Nava”, “we”). By creating an account you agree to these terms; if you use Nava without an account, these terms still apply to that use. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal data; where we rely on your consent, we ask for it separately and clearly. If the English and the Tamil versions differ, the English governs.
Who can use Nava
Anyone may read the daily panchangam without an account. You must be 18 or older to open an account. You may hold one account, in your own name, with true details.
What Nava provides
Nava calculates the panchangam, festivals, alerts and readings for the places and people you choose, and lets you keep a gift ledger and share feeds. The daily panchangam is free. We improve the service continually, so features can change or stop; we will give notice in the app before removing a feature you rely on. We aim to keep Nava available, but it can be interrupted for maintenance or by events outside our control.
Traditional guidance, not professional advice
Readings, scores, good and bad times, and festival dates are traditional astrological guidance, calculated by the methods described on our Methodology page. They are not medical, financial, legal or psychological advice; for those, please consult a qualified professional. Calculations can differ from a printed almanac or another tradition by minutes or, at a boundary, by a day; when a decision matters, confirm the timing with your own priest or astrologer.
Your account and the people you add
Keep your password private; you are responsible for what happens under your account. When you add family members, gift ledger guests or invitees, you confirm that you have their permission, or that you are the parent or guardian of the child you add, and that the details are accurate.
What you post
Feeds, the rules in them, reports and feedback are your content. You keep ownership of it, and you allow Nava to store it, show it to the people you share it with, and adapt its format to do that, including showing it to everyone if you post it in a public feed. This permission continues for content that stays in a shared feed after you close your account, as the account-deletion page explains. You must not post, share or do anything that:
- breaks any law in force in India;
- belongs to someone else and you have no right to share;
- is obscene, sexual or invades someone's privacy, including their body;
- harms a child in any way;
- harasses, threatens or demeans anyone, or insults them for their religion, caste, race, ethnicity, gender or community;
- deceives people about where a message comes from, or knowingly spreads information that is clearly false or misleading;
- pretends to be a person, temple or organisation you are not;
- infringes a copyright, trademark or other right;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, its friendly relations with other countries or public order, or encourages any offence;
- contains viruses or other harmful code;
- advertises or spams;
- tries to break, probe or overload the service or reach other people's data.
Reports, removal and suspension
Anyone can report a feed. We may remove content, limit a feed, or suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, and we tell you why unless the law stops us. You can contest a decision by writing to privacy@navapanchangam.com. We acknowledge a complaint about content within 24 hours and decide it within 15 days; a request to remove content that breaks the list above is decided within 72 hours, and content showing a person's private area or nudity, or impersonating them in a changed image, is removed within 24 hours of the complaint. If you disagree with our grievance officer's decision, you may appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee set up by the Government of India within 30 days.
Paid plans and refunds
No paid plan is on sale today. Before any goes on sale we will publish its price, what it includes, how to cancel and our refund and cancellation policy on this page, and payments will be processed by Razorpay; we never see your card details.
Our content
The Nava name, logo, design, texts and calculations are ours or used with permission. You may share pages and screenshots for personal, non-commercial use with the source named. Do not copy the service or its data in bulk.
Limits of our liability
Nava is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make relying on a reading or a time. Otherwise, our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and ₹5,000. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for wilful misconduct, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit, and nothing limits a right you have under consumer protection or data protection law, or under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Mysuru have jurisdiction, without taking away any right you have to bring a claim where you live. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms in a way that matters, we tell you in the app and by email before the change takes effect and ask for your agreement again. If you do not agree, you can close your account.
